With X-Designer 4.6
the capability of X-Designer, the leading GUI builder for
Motif and Microsoft Windows, was extended to include a
Java code generation facility.
X-Designer solves the Java 'thin-client' problem
for Motif application builders. Now Motif developers need not
concern themselves with whether they may need to move
applications to Java, the future is assured by using
X-Designer.
Even Motif interfaces that were not produced using X-Designer
may be moved to Java using X-Designer. By using
XD/Capture there
is a path through X-Designer to Java for all Motif interfaces,
however they were produced. Even hand-coded Motif interfaces
can be captured and modified to become Java
interfaces using X-Designer.
With X-Designer 5 you can take any X-Designer design and
export it as a Visaj bridge
file. This gives you a migration route for moving Motif
interfaces over to Java. Whereas X-Designer's Java code
generation allows you to maintain your design for both Motif
and Java code generation, the Visaj export gives you the
option of moving your designs over to a 100% Pure Java
development tool to take advantage of JavaBeans and other Java
only technologies.
