Motif is a rich, mature and stable toolkit that is available on wide range of commercial and open source operating systems. It continues to be widely used and is the GUI toolkit of choice for mission critical UNIX and Linux based application development.

That said, there valid reasons for migrating an existing Motif application to a new platform or toolkit where Motif is either not available or perhaps not the best choice.
