XRT/gear is a collection of eleven widgets and three utilities, designed by Motif experts, that will let you quickly build high-quality Motif user interfaces.

XRT/gear provides widgets that are otherwise unavailable in Motif or greatly enhance those that already exist. Now you can use Outliner/Tree interfaces, build folder and tab dialogues and add pop-up spot help to your Motif applications. XRT/gear's widgets let you inform users with progress meters, build toolbars filled with colorful icons, or easily align widgets in a form.

Object-Oriented Extension to Motif

All XRT/gear widgets are based on the open object-oriented architecture used by the Xt Intrinsics and OSF/Motif, so they fit seamlessly into your X Window development environment.

The widgets are directly programmed through resources, for example XtSetValues() and/or resource files. They can also be programmed using UIL and C++ interfaces. And they can be easily integrated into X-Designer.
