X-DESIGNER® RELEASE 9 ANNOUNCED BY IST
New version of the classic UNIX and Linux GUI builder updated with new features for 2010

IST today announced the availability of X-Designer
Release 9, underscoring its long-term commitment to the ongoing enhancement and maintenance
of the classic UNIX and Linux GUI builder. X-Designer 9 is an evolutionary release with several additions,
enhancements and improvements to the product. Software engineers building Motif interfaces can
continue to do so rapidly with confidence that they are using a well proven product that continues to be
supported and enhanced.

New Features of X-Designer 9
X-Designer 9 is an evolutionary release with several additions, enhancements and improvements to the
product. A brief summary follows:
- A new option allows you to include extra variables that you may need for
your application in X-Designer generated data structures and classes.
- There is a convenient mechanism for launching one or more terminal sessions,
to facilitate tasks such as compiling code.
- A record of previously accessed design files is now kept and listed for
convenient access within the File -> Recent Open menu option.
- Widgets can be reset (whereby the widgets are destroyed and recreated to
correct possible anomalies in the Motif toolkit) both from the currently
selected widget in the hierarchy downwards or from the top.
- Switching between widgets in different hierarchies is now much simpler
and easier.
- Truecolor visuals are now fully supported.
- UIL code generation now generates create callbacks for Scrolled Lists and
Scrolled Text.
- It is now even easier to migrate UIM/X code into X-Designer - you don't have to
reorganize your projects and application structure.
Pricing and Availability
X-Designer 9 costs $4,950 for the first license, including all features listed, complete with one year of
IST's highly-regarded support and all upgrades. X-Designer 9 is shipping now and is initially available for
Sun Solaris (SPARC and X86) and Linux. For availability on other platforms, contact IST.
