which develops innovative
technology-based marketing services.
In September 2002, they
launched their marketing response service,
RSVPi,
with Ford of Britain
as the launch client.

Ford advertisement using
RSVPi
For the first time consumers who are interested in an
advertised product or service can register that interest
instantly and discreetly. They then receive follow-up
information by email without having to phone a
call-centre.
For consumers, it's very simple, convenient and
cheap.
You pick up your mobile phone and send a keyword, in
this case 'fusion', to the number given (81211 or 07781 484 888). All the extra
information you want is then sent to your email address. It
costs the same as a normal text message, and you receive
detailed follow-up information that you can review comfortably
in your own time.
Registration for the service is a simple once-only process
and is handled automatically by SMS the first time you use it.
From then on, you only need to text keywords to the
RSVPi
number to receive further
information in your email.
For advertisers, it's a powerful, new alternative to an 0800
number. Around 25 million people in Britain know how to text
and offering them an innovative way of responding to
advertisements is both consumer-friendly and extremely
cost-effective. Additionally, response tracking information
provided by
RSVPi
enables advertisers to measure their advertising effectiveness
in real time.

Jupiter advertisement using
RSVPi
The Ford campaign was soon followed by Jupiter - the Fund
Managment Company, Ecover - the ecological FCMG business,
New Star - the Fund Managment business, and
Legal & General.
It is
ideally suited to any campaign or direct marketing promotion
where the consumer's reaction, on seeing an advertisement, is
"Yes. I'm interested. Tell me more."
IST developed the technology behind the
RSVPi
system, and for a while ran it on IST's own systems.
